GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNCG athletic department has officially become a partner with Game Plan, the comprehensive student-athlete development platform that unifies and aligns athletic departments, athletes, and employers. The Spartans’ ability to utilize Game Plan’s comprehensive platform is possible because of the generous sponsorship support from Big Kids Toys AV under the direction of long-time Spartan Club member Mike Twomey.
Through its partnership with Game Plan, UNCG will offer student-athletes with assessments and eLearning courses to help them transition into college successfully, as well as career development resources and access to job opportunities through Game Plan’s Career Marketplace. UNCG will also establish its own career network for current student-athletes and alumni, as well as a custom mentorship network – connecting current student-athletes with former student-athletes.
“We’re looking forward to launching our new program for Spartan student-athletes and believe Game Plan will play an integral role in setting its course and foundation,” said Director of Athletics Kim Record. “We are grateful for the support of Big Kids Toys AV and Mike Twomey for making this all possible. Our goal is to launch a comprehensive program for our student-athletes and having a hub like Game Plan for everything will help us create efficiencies while managing the day-to-day activity of our program.”
“UNCG is launching one of the most complete student-athlete development programs in college athletics and we’re grateful to be a part of that,” said Vin McCaffrey, CEO and Founder of Game Plan. “The Spartans are truly taking a leading role to ensure its student-athletes are prepared for what comes next. Game Plan’s software will assist UNCG in reaching more student-athletes with its current resources and staff – ensuring all student-athletes are reached at every important state of their developmental journey.”
Soon, Game Plan will launch its Mentor Marketplace, a resource for athletic departments to create their own mentor networks connecting alumni and student-athletes for mentorship and employment opportunities. Athletic departments that utilize this feature will have the ability to create their own custom alumni and mentor network to ultimately connect and benefit all parties involved.
By incorporating mentorship, UNCG is connecting student-athletes with one of the most valuable resources they can have in their journey -- alumni. In addition, the Career Marketplace feature can be leveraged to create unique sponsorships – among the first of its type in the industry.
Any business interested in offering job/internship opportunities in the Career Market Place should contact Senior Associate AD for Advancement & Chief Revenue Office Craig Fink at (336) 944-1750 or email@example.com.
