GREENSBORO, N.C. – For the second time in a four-season span, UNC Greensboro men’s basketball will face Georgetown, this time in a matchup that will take place on Saturday, Nov. 30 at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.
The game will be the third all-time meeting between the Spartans and Hoyas, with the first two contests taking place on Nov. 14, 2011 and Dec. 26, 2017 respectively. In this year’s matchup, UNCG will be looking for its first victory in the series.
Last season, UNCG won a program-record 29 games including the school’s first-ever National Invitation Tournament (NIT) victory when the Spartans – who were the No. 1-overall seed in the tournament – defeated Campbell in the first round.
Over the last three years, UNCG has won 81 games, which is tied for the eighth-most during that stretch alongside Houston, Oregon and St. Mary’s.
As for Georgetown, the Hoyas are coming off their first winning campaign since the 2014-15 season with a 19-14 record. The Hoyas went 6-1 in home non-conference action with the lone loss coming against Kansas.
