GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNC Greensboro men’s basketball rising senior Kyrin Galloway has been selected to represent Australia’s Emerging Boomers team in the upcoming University Games that will take place July 3-14 in Naples, Italy. The team’s first game will take place on July 5 against Israel before also facing Mexico and the Czech Republic.
The University Games is the largest multi-sport event outside of the Olympics and features approximately 10,000 athletes who are currently completing university studies.
Last season, Galloway set career-highs across the board as he was a full-time starter for the Spartans as UNCG won a program-record 29 games. In UNCG’s second game of the year against then-No. 23 LSU, the Milton, Ga., native scored a career-high 32 points on 12-of-14 shooting from the field and eight three-pointers made.
In total, Galloway finished the season averaging 9.4 points per game – third-highest on the team – along with 4.3 rebounds per game and the highest three-point percentage (.379) amongst all Spartans.
Entering his senior season, Galloway has appeared in 100 games with 38 starts scoring more than 600 points along with 375 career rebounds.
