GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNC Greensboro women’s basketball (11-17, 5-8 Southern Conference) hosts ETSU (9-20, 7-6) Saturday at 4 p.m. to finish the regular season.

Five Facts to Know

- The Spartans lead the SoCon in scoring defense (60.1 points per game), rebounding margin (+3.3) and defensive rebounding percentage (.712).

- Nadine Soliman ranks in the conference second in scoring (18.8 points per game) and made three’s per game (2.4) and third in rebounding (7.3 rebounds per game) and defensive rebounds per game (5.7).

-Soliman has recorded 1,511 points in her career and needs 75 more points to move into second place ahead of Angie Polk (1985-89).

- UNCG has recorded 18 double-doubles by four different Spartans, led by Te'ja Twitty (eight) and Soliman (six). Twitty has recorded 19 double-doubles in her career for third-most in school history.

- The Spartans are 9-3 this season at Fleming Gymnasium and have won four of six games against SoCon opponents. They’re outscoring opponents by an average of 17.0 points (66.7-49.7) with a rebounding margin of +6.0.

The Spartans in 2018-19

UNCG has won its last two games, defeating Western Carolina 66-42 on the road last Saturday and Chattanooga 53-49 Thursday at home. In both games the Spartans didn’t trail a single second. Against the Mocs, four Spartans had at least 10 points: Twitty (19), Aja Boyd (11), Soliman (11) and Cece Crudup (10). Twitty pulled down a game-high 11 boards for the double-double.

Sitting in a tie for sixth place in the SoCon standings, the Spartans will either be the sixth or seventh seed for the upcoming 2019 Ingles Southern Conference Women’s Basketball Championships presented by General Shale. Samford is tied with UNCG and plays Furman Saturday at home. The two teams split the series this season, and the next tiebreaker will be against the top team in the SoCon and down. With other tiebreakers likely to occur, the highest tiebreaker in the standings will be decided first and so forth down the standings.

The trio of Soliman, Twitty and Boyd have ranked among the top scorers and rebounders in the SoCon. Besides her strong scoring and rebounding, Soliman is third in free throw percentage (.803), seventh in three-point field goal percentage (.347) and ninth in steals (1.5 per game).

Twitty has done more damage on the offensive glass, ranking second (3.6 per game) in the category. She’s second in overall rebounding (7.9 rpg), third in field goal percentage (.525), fifth in defensive rebounds (4.3 per game), seventh in scoring (13.1 ppg) and 10th in free throw percentage (.688). Boyd is right behind Twitty for third in offensive rebounding (2.9) and places fifth in rebounding (6.7 rpg) and steals (1.8 per game), eighth in blocks (0.9 per game), 11th in field goal percentage (.446) and 15th in scoring (10.0 ppg).

Series History

ETSU leads the series 18-14. The Bucs have won three of the last five meetings, including the previous one this season 85-76 on Jan. 31 in Johnson City, Tenn.
