GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNC Greensboro women’s basketball got its first look at its new and improved locker room in the Coleman Building Friday. The locker room renovation project was made possible by Jo Safrit, a 1957 Woman’s College graduate.
This is the first-ever gift to name a significant renovation or construction project for UNCG Athletics. The updated facility, the Jo Safrit Women’s Basketball Locker Room, features a spacious, technologically updated multi-purpose area conducive to teaching and learning, larger lockers, an enhanced nutrition station and updated graphics.
“I would like to thank Jo Safrit for her generous gift towards the UNCG locker room renovation project,” Head Coach Trina Patterson said. “I would also like to thank our alums and friends of the program who made gifts to name the individual lockers. This is monumental as we continue our pursuit of growing a championship program. Our players will spend many hours utilizing and enjoying the many amenities as it is an important part of their student-athlete experience.”
The Spartans start the regular season at Georgia State on Wednesday at 11 a.m. and then open at home next Sunday, Nov. 11 at 2 p.m. against Pfeiffer.
