Men's Basketball Announces The Additions Of Eric Hamilton & Isaiah Miller 05-12-2017

GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNCG men's basketball head coach Wes Miller announced the additions of transfer Eric Hamilton (Atlanta, Ga./Wichita State) and incoming freshman Isaiah Miller (Covington, Ga./Newton) to the program for the 2017-18 season.

“Eric and Isaiah are great additions to our program,” Miller said. “They are both competitors and eager to grow as players. They fit us. We can't wait to get both of them to campus for summer school and get to work.”

Hamilton is a 6-8, 230-poud forward that is transferring to UNCG after spending two seasons at Wichita State. He will have to sit out the 2017-18 season due to NCAA transfer rules but will have two years of eligibility remaining. Hamilton appeared in 47 career games for the Shockers, scoring 105 points and grabbing 69 rebounds in his career as a reserve. Scored 14 points in a win over Iowa his freshman season and won the dunk contest at Shocker Madness during both of his seasons at Wichita State.

Hamilton was a 2014 graduate of Duluth (Ga.) High School for head coach Eddie Hood. He averaged 14.8 points and 8.1 rebounds per game as a senior, earning First Team All-Gwinnett County and First Team All-Metro Atlanta status. He was rated a three-start recruit by Rivals coming out of Duluth, before spending a year at prep school at Sunrise Christian Academy outside of Wichita. Hamilton is the son of Bertha Lancaster and Eric Hamilton.

Miller, a 6-0, 180-guard, spent last season at Newton High School for coach Rick Rasmussen. He helped the Rams to a 28-2 overall record while averaging 20 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.1 steals per game. He guided the Rams to the 7A State Quarterfinals and a No. 4 ranked in the state of Georgia. He was named First Team All-State in 7A North by the Georgia High School Coaches Association and was a First Team All-Region and All-Metro selection.

Miller, originally from Newark, N.J., won the Underclassman All-American Game dunk contest in March. He played AAU basketball for Infinite Skills and Team Loaded NC. Prior to Newton, He spent three seasons at Eastside High School, averaging 25.3 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.3 steals per game as a junior. Miller is the son of Marilyn Miller.
