Baseball Releases 2017 Schedule
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Head Coach Link Jarrett and the UNCG baseball staff have released the 2017 schedule. The schedule features 55 games against 19 opponents leading up to the Southern Conference Tournament at Fluor Field in Greenville, S.C. Six of the 19 opponents scheduled for the 2017 season qualified for the NCAA Regionals a year ago.

"We are very excited about the 2017 baseball schedule.” Jarrett said, “It is extremely competitive and gives our program great opportunities. The schedule provides a nice stretch of games at home beginning late February through March, and our players are very excited about the road trips we have planned."
UNCG begins the 2017 season with four-straight games on the road, including a three-game series against the South Carolina Gamecocks (Feb. 17-19) in Columbia, S.C. The Spartans then play at Wake Forest (Feb. 21). Both teams qualified for NCAA Regionals a year ago, with South Carolina hosting Oklahoma State in the Super Regional round.
After the four-game road swing, UNCG returns for a stretch of 22 games in Greensboro. During the run, the Spartans will host Michigan State (Feb. 24-26, NC State (Feb. 28), High Point (Mar. 1), Maryland-Eastern Shore (Mar. 3-5), Elon, (Mar. 7), Princeton (Mar. 10-12), Lafayette (Mar. 16-18), North Carolina A&T (Mar. 22), Western Carolina (Mar. 24-26), and UNC Asheville (Mar. 28).
The matchup with North Carolina A&T will be played at NewBridge Bank Park, marking the 10th time in the last 12 seasons that the pair will play at the neutral site.
The Spartans get back on the road for the next four games, playing at ETSU (Mar. 31-Apr.2), and making the trip across town to take on North Carolina A&T (Apr. 5) at War Memorial Stadium.
UNCG then hosts six of the next seven games, welcoming Southern Conference foes Furman (Apr. 7-9), and Wofford (Apr. 13-15), with a game at NC State (Apr.11) splitting the weekends.
The Blue and Gold then hit the road for 11 of the next 12 games, playing midweeks at High Point (Apr. 18), home against Wake Forest (Apr. 25), at Elon (May 2), with weekend series at Ohio State (Apr. 21-23), Mercer (Apr. 28-30), and VMI (May 5-7).
UNCG finishes the regular season home schedule with a three-game series against The Citadel (May 12-14) before heading to Samford for the final regular season series with the Bulldogs (May 18-20).
Following the conclusion of the regular season, the Southern Conference Baseball Tournament will be held May 23-28, at Fluor Field in Greenville, S.C.
