GREENSBORO, N.C. – Despite taking the first set against the Southern Conference co-leaders, UNC Greensboro volleyball (9-18, 3-10) was unable to score a victory over Samford on Friday night as the Spartans fell to the Bulldogs 3-1 (25-22, 15-25, 11-25, 19-25) in Fleming Gymnasium.  

Three Things To Know
--Junior Maria Esch led the Spartans in kills once again with 13.  

--Freshman Gabriela McHugh finished the night with a team-best 28 assists along with 16 digs. 

--The Spartans recorded nine blocks in the match, six of which came from senior Lauren Robeck.  

Up Next
The Spartans will close out the weekend with Senior Day against Chattanooga on Saturday. Before the 5 p.m. start, the program will honor Grace Howell, Emily Keilen, Megan Moran and Robeck for their contributions to the program.

The 2019 season is a special one for the program, as UNCG volleyball is celebrating its 50th anniversary. The program hosted a special celebration during the weekend of Friday, Oct. 18 and Saturday, Oct. 19. The weekend included a program history celebration luncheon and recognition of several distinguished alumni from the program’s past.2
