GREENSBORO, N.C. – For the fourth-straight year, UNC Greensboro volleyball has earned The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award, the organization recently announced.
“Receiving this award for the fourth consecutive year is a strong testament to the student-athletes in our program, each of which are very academically focused, and also to our tremendous academic support staff that work continuously to help each of our players succeed in the classroom,” said Head Coach Corey Carlin.
According to a press release provided by the AVCA, the Team Academic Award, which began during the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team GPA on a 4.0 scale.
Since the award's inception in 1993, the amount of award winners has increased from 62 to its current number of 1,125.
