GREENSBORO, N.C.– UNC Greensboro’s volleyball team (9-8, 3-2 Southern Conference) finishes a three-match homestand against ETSU this Wednesday at 7p.m. in Fleming Gymnasium.
The Spartans in 2018
The Spartans are riding a two-match winning streak, including winning their last five home matches. The last time out, UNCG defeated Samford in a thrilling five setter, 3-2.
Sophomore outside hitter Holly Behrends leads the team with 2.85 kills per set, while junior outside hitter Emily Keilen is averaging 2.50 kills. Penner leads the team with 7.15 assists per set and sophomore setter Giana Rasmussen adds 4.21 assists per set.
Defensively, Gregory leads the team with 4.12 digs per set, while junior middle hitter Lauren Robeck leads the team with 0.76 blocks per set and junior middle hitter Mikaela Weidmann adds 0.59 blocks per set.
A Look at ETSU
ETSU has won four of its last five matches, including a 3-0 win against Chattanooga the last time out. The Bucs are led by Leah Clayton with 4.23 kills per set, Alyssa Kvarta with 10.63 assists per set and Marija Popovic with 5.26 digs per set.
With the Spartans off this upcoming weekend, UNCG returns to the court next weekend with a trip to Greenville, S.C., to face Furman Friday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. and a trip to Spartanburg, S.C., to face Wofford Saturday at 4 p.m. to close out the first half of the SoCon schedule.
