GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNCG volleyball and head coach Corey Carlin have announced four spring competition dates throughout March and April. UNCG is coming off of an 18-13 season and earned the program’s first-ever postseason appearance, earning a spot in the National Invitational Volleyball Championship (NIVC). The Spartans finished 11-5 in Southern Conference play for the fourth-straight season.

“Our goal in creating the competition schedule this spring was to get in the gym against higher caliber teams that we normally don’t get to see and we accomplished that goal.” Carlin said, “That is how programs grow in the offseason, by seeing higher level competition. While we will have a good mix of opponents in our four dates of competition, playing teams like Duke, North Carolina and Tennessee will provide great opportunities for our players to grow and see the game through a new lens. We’re excited about competing against some of the better teams in our region for sure.”

The Spring season will feature four events. Three will be played on the road with one home tournament. The spring season starts off on Saturday, March 17th at the Wake Forest Spring Tournament. Also competing in the Wake Forest Spring Tournament will be Liberty, Georgia and the host Demon Deacons.

The Spartans will be back in action the following weekend as they head to Durham, North Carolina for the Duke Spring Tournament. Other teams have yet to be determined for the Duke Spring Tournament.

After a week off, UNCG is back on the court April 7th as it hosts Campbell, UNCW and Wingate in the UNCG Spring Tournament. This event will be held inside Fleming Gym and is open to the public.

Finally, the spring season wraps up with the UNC Spring Tournament in Chapel Hill. The Spartans will take on a pair of ACC teams in North Carolina and Virginia Tech. UNCG will also get a shot against SEC contender, Tennessee during the competition.
