Spartans Earn AVCA Team Academic Award for the Second-Straight Year 08-08-2017

GREENSBORO, N.C. – For the second-straight season, UNCG Volleyball has earned the American Volleyball Coaches Associations (AVCA) Team Academic Award. The Spartans were one of 149 Division I teams that earned the award, breaking the previous year’s total and setting an all-time high. This is the second-straight season UNCG has earned the award, and the second total in the history of the award.

The AVCA Team Academic Award honors collegiate and high school teams that have displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 team grade point average on a 4.0 scale. The award was initiated during the 1992-93 academic year and has been awarded to qualified teams each season.

Other SoCon schools earning the AVCA Team Academic Award include ETSU, Mercer, Chattanooga, Western Carolina and Wofford.
