GREENSBORO, N.C. - UNCG men's tennis closes out the month of October with a trip to Southern Conference rival Furman this Saturday and Sunday, competing in Furman Fall Duals in Greenville. In addition to the hosting Paladins, the Spartans will also compete against athletes from Appalachian State and Winthrop this weekend, starting Saturday with doubles play against the Mountaineers and singles competition with the hosts soon after.

MEET HISTORY

• This weekend will be the firs time in at least a decade that the Spartans have competed at Furman during the fall season, but were last on the Paladin campus as recently as March 16th for spring season conference play

THE SPARTANS

• Roger Rogowski reached as far as round three of last week's singles draw at ITA Carolina Regionals, recording back-to-back straight-set victories over athletes from Coastal Carolina and Charlotte

• Hugh Knapp won four singles matches in the Carolina Regional consolation bracket, and was one of the final four athletes among the field still standing after day three of competition

• Rogowski and Knapp combined in doubles play during last weekend's competition, defeating top-16 seed Edu Guell and Samuel Rubell of Duke 8-6

• Competing in his first fall as a Spartan, newcomer Alexander Zuckerman is yet to yield a singles match this season, going a perfect 7-0 through two tournaments

THE COMPETITION

• Furman seniors Jake Munns and Jake Bhangdia reached the finals of last week's ITA Carolina Regional doubles bracket, defeating pairings from Clemson, Elon, NC State, East Carolina and Duke in the process

• Winthrop's Connor Williamson reached the quarterfinals of the Carolina Regional singles consolation bracket last weekend, he combined with teammate Abhimanyu Vannemreddy in doubles play, losing to App State duo Milo Bargeron and Alex Pavkovich in the first round
