TEMPE, Ariz.– Eight student-athletes on the UNC Greensboro men’s and women’s tennis teams were named on the Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team.
Along with the eight individual selections, both the men’s and women’s tennis teams were also on the All-Academic Team.
Five men’s tennis student-athletes were named on the team in junior Logan Blaser, junior Jack Burkill, former Spartan Connor Thompson, who completed his eligibility last season, junior Marcus Vidgren and sophomore Eric Whisnant, while three women’s tennis student-athletes were named on the team of sophomore Tayah Cross and former Spartan Corinne Blythe and Alice Taylor, who both completed their eligibility last season.
The ITA All-Academic Team is awarded to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above and to be named on the ITA Scholar-Athlete team, a student-athlete must be a varsity letterwinner, have a grade point average of at least 3.50 for the current academic year and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.
The men’s tennis team returns to action this weekend with the Elon Fall Invitational in Elon, N.C., while the women’s tennis team begins the fall season with a trip to Charlotte, N.C., for the Queens Invitational this weekend.
