WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – UNCG men’s tennis wrapped up the Wake Forest Fall Invitational Sunday afternoon. The Spartans had two individuals compete on the final day, with junior Ian Melnik (Lawrencville Ga./Rivers Academy) taking the C3 singles bracket.

Ollie Palmer (Tywning Great Britain/St. Peter’s) competed in B1 singles against Davidson’s Axel Fries. The Spartan dropped the match 7-5, 6-1 to finish 12th in the 16-man bracket.

Melnik was pitted against Charlotte's Collin Thomson in the C3 singles championship bracket. Melnik took care of business, defeating Thomson in straight sets, 6-2, 7-5.

This is the final fall competition for the men’s tennis team. The Spartans will return to action in January when they head to Charlotte for a matchup with the 49ers.
