GREENSBORO, N.C. – Men’s tennis coach and UNCG’s Director of Tennis, Jeff Trivette, announced the signing of Nico Grewe (Raleigh, N.C./Wakefield) for the 2017-18 academic year.  Grewe comes to UNCG following a successful prep career at Wakefield High School.

At Wakefield, Grewe was a four-year letter winner, and three-time All-Cap 8 Conference performer.  Grewe was also named all-region three times, and twice earned all-state honors.  He won the North Carolina state doubles championship twice, as well as earning a runner-up finish.  Grewe also finished as a semifinalist in the singles competition.

“We are very excited to have Nico join our Spartan Tennis family.” Trivette said, “It is great to find someone from North Carolina who will immediately impact our program as a freshman.  We look forward to watching him grow and develop into a top-level collegiate student athlete.”

Nico plans to major in business while attending UNCG.

UNCG men’s tennis opens the spring season January 22nd, as it hosts the Troy Trojans at 11:00 a.m.
