DURHAM, N.C. – UNC Greensboro men’s golfer Jonathan Brightwell (68-70-67) completed a superb performance at the Rod Myers Invitational this weekend, as the senior finished the tournament at 11-under par to take home the individual championship. 

After entering the third round tied for fourth place, the Charlotte native made a climb to the top of the leaderboard by carding a five-under 67 during the final 18 holes. 

His individual championship is the 31stall-time in program history and his first outright individual championship. 

As a team, the Spartans (290-284-290) finished the tournament tied for fourth place alongside Penn State. 

Junior Justin Emmons (74-70-74) completed the tournament tied for 24thplace after carding a two-over 74 in the third round. He completed the front-nine at even par before going two-over on the back-nine. 

Junior Nick Lyerly (73-70-76) was amongst a group of players to finish one stroke behind Emmons as he finishing the third round at four-over par. 

Fellow junior Zack Swanson (75-74-73), meanwhile, had his best round of play on Sunday, finishing the day at one-over 73.  

Freshman Jack Marcotte (78-77-66) capped off his first collegiate tournament finished in a tie for 62ndplace. 

In individual play, senior Ben Buben (72-78-83) wrapped up his first appearance of fall play tied for 64thplace while freshman Noah Connor (79-76-81) was amongst a trio of competitors to finish tied for 67thplace.
