GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNCG men’s golf team returns to action Monday at the Wolfpack Fall Intercollegiate, hosted by N.C. State at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course. The two-day, 54-hole event begins Monday with an 8 a.m. shotgun start on the par-72, 7,358-yard course. Live scoring will be available via www.golfstatresults.com.

The field at the 2017 Wolfpack Fall Intercollegiate includes the Spartans, NC State (host), Campbell, East Carolina, Francis Marion, George Washington, High Point, James Madison, Loyola (Md.), Maryland, North Carolina, USC Upstate, Chattanooga and Wofford.

Senior Josh Stockwell (Aberdeen, N.C./Southern Pines) is in the top spot in the lineup this week after posted a 74.33 stroke average in the first event of the year at North Carolina. Stockwell earned All-SoCon honors last season after recording a 72.71 stroke average. He tallied three top-20 showings last year, including a career-best fifth place finish at the SoCon Championships.

Junior Bryce Hendrix (Greenville, N.C./D.H. Conley) finished 29th at the Rod Myers Invitational last time out with a 73.33 stroke average. Hendrix led the team last season with a 72.32 stroke average. He tallied four top-10 finishes last season as the Spartans’ most consistent golfer, including a fourth place showing at the SoCon Championships.

Sophomore Jonathan Brightwell (Charlotte, N.C./Independence) is third in the lineup this week after posting a 74.33 stroke average at UNC. Brightwell earned SoCon Freshman of the Year and All-SoCon honors last year after posting a 72.94 stroke average. He recorded four top-20 finishes last season, including finishing in the top-7 his last two events. He closed out last season by finishing tied for first overall at the SoCon Championships.

Freshman Nick Lyerly (Salisbury, N.C./East Rowan) was the Spartans’ top finisher at the Rod Myers Invitational in his collegiate debut. Lyerly posted a 72.00 stroke average over the three rounds, placing 21st overall with an even-par 216 score.

Sophomore Ben Buben (Charlotte, N.C./Providence Day) rounds out the lineup this week after playing as an individual at North Carolina last week. Buben posted a 78.35 stroke average in the event and played in eight rounds last season with a 77.75 stroke average. Sophomore Michael Wicker (Rougemount, N.C./North Durham) will play his second event of the year as an individual and posted a 77.67 stroke average at the Rod Myer Invitational. Wicker played 11 rounds last season and posted a 78.00 stroke average.
