GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNCG men’s golf head coach Terrance Stewart announced the addition of Spartan alum Ryan Heisey to the coaching staff Tuesday as a volunteer assistant coach.

“We are very excited to have Ryan return to UNCG,” Stewart said. “He was a model student-athlete during his time here at UNCG. His experiences playing for the past seven years on the PGA Tours in Canada and Latin America will greatly assist our players.”

Heisey was a four-year letterwinner for the Spartans and Stewart from 2006-10. He finished runner-up at the 2010 Southern Conference Championships, posting a 4-under par 212 (72-67-73). His play helped the Spartans finished third overall as a team during his senior campaign.

Heisey played 41 total professional events during his career, playing 22 events on the PGA Tour of Canada and 19 events in the PGA Tour Latin America. He played in 11 events in the PGA Tour of Canada in 2017, making the cut six times and posting one top 25 finish.

Heisey won the 2010 North Carolina Amateur Championships in the summer after his senior year. He was the runner-up of the North Carolina State Match Play Championship in 2010 and placed fourth overall at the Middle Atlantic Amateur Championships in 2010.
