GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNCG men’s golf head coach Terrance Stewart announced the signing of high school standout Ben Crow (Pinehurst, N.C./Pinecrest) to a National Letter of Intent Wednesday. Crow will join the Spartans as a freshman in the 2018-19 season.

“Ben is the truly a student-athlete,” Stewart said. “His commitment to school, service and golf is second to none. Ben has been a valuable member of three-straight 4A State Championships for Pinecrest. That culture will serve him well at UNCG.”

Crow has been a four-year member of the Pinecrest High School team for coach Rich Wainwright. He helped the team win three-straight NCHSAA 4-A State Championships from 2015-17, the first time in program-history that feat has been accomplished.

Crow is a two-time All-Conference selection as a sophomore and junior heading into his senior season. He posted a 70.8 stroke average as a junior and finished fourth overall in the 4-A State Championship individual rankings. He carded rounds of 71-72 in the state championship while also leading Pinecrest to a Regional Championship in 2017.

Crow has been a member of the National Honor Society since his sophomore year. He is an active member of the First Baptist Youth Group, partaking in 10-day mission trips each summer since seventh grade.
