GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNCG women’s soccer team turned in a third place showing in the Southern Conference regular season this year and the Spartans were rewarded with five players named to the postseason All-League team having three players earn All-SoCon accolades and two members named to the league’s All-Freshman Team. The league coaches voted on a pair of all-conference teams, an all-freshman team and the four individual awards. They were not allowed to vote for their own players.

Junior defender Emily Jensen (Nelson, New Zealand/Santa Clara) was named to the All-SoCon First Team while senior defender Regan Lehman (Wilmington, Del./Padua Academy) and junior midfielder Heida Ragney Vidarsdottir (Akureyri, Iceland/Carson Newman) were named Second Team All-SoCon. Additionally, Kaley Tucker (Littleton, Colo./Thunder Ridge) and Quiqui Hita (Phoenix, Ariz./Xavier College Prep) were chosen for the SoCon All-Freshman Team.

Jensen earned First Team All-SoCon honors in her first year at UNCG. She started and played in all 19 games on the backline, helping the Spartans record eight shutouts as a team, including five in SoCon action. Jensen finished second on the team in scoring with 10 points, scoring four goals and adding two assists. She posted goals against High Point, Wofford, The Citadel and Elon, recording the game-winning goals against HPU and Wofford.

Lehman was named Second Team All-SoCon on defense for the third-straight season. She is the first Spartan since Chesney White (2013-15) to earn All-SoCon honors three times and the first defender since Lauren Lopez in 2007-09. Lehman helped the Spartans post eight shutouts on defense while finishing the regular season with eight total points. She scored three goals and dished out two assists, while recording 22 shots. She tallied goals against Wofford (2) and VMI this season.

Vidarsdottir earned Second Team All-SoCon in her first year with the team. She played primarily in the defensive midfield role and scored two goals and dished out an assist this year. She found the back of the net in SoCon games against Western Carolina and scored the game-winning goal against ETSU.

Tucker and Hita earned SoCon All-Freshman Team honors this year, marking the 10th-straight season UNCG has placed a member on the team and the third-straight year the Spartans had multiple recipients. Tucker posted two goals on the year while playing in 18 games, including 10 starts up top. She found the back of the net against Mercer and Wofford this year while posting 10 shots. Hita played in 17 games, making 12 starts for the Spartans. She scored two goals and dished out two assists this year. She was second on the team with 34 shots and scored goals against William & Mary and Appalachian State.

Samford’s Jermaine Seoposenwe was named the SoCon’s Player of the Year while Allie Lourie of Samford was chosen as the Defensive Player of the Year. Andrew Burr of Furman was tabbed the league’s Coach of the Year while Chloe Arnold of Chattanooga was chosen as the Freshman of the Year.

Samford led the way with nine players on the all-conference teams, with Furman having seven. UNCG totaled five all-conference selections, while Mercer and Western Carolina each have three. Chattanooga and ETSU have a pair of all-conference selections and VMI had one representative.
