GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNCG women’s soccer plays its final road games of the regular season this weekend against Western Carolina and ETSU. The Spartans face the Catamounts Friday at 7 p.m. and Buccaneers Sunday at 2 p.m.

Sunday’s game will be on the SoCon Digital Network. Links for the stream and live stats for both games are available at UNCGSpartans.com.

All-Time Series Vs. Western Carolina & ETSU

Owns a 20-3-3 record against Western Carolina and 11-4-4 record versus ETSU.

Have only lost once against the Catamounts in the last 20 meetings, outscoring them 37-7.

Last year defeated ETSU 2-0, tied Western Carolina 2-2 in the regular season and then beat the Catamounts 1-0 in the Southern Conference Championship Game.

Scouting UNCG

Enters the matchup with an 10-2-1, 5-0-0 record and have outscored opponents 33-11.

Sits in second place in the SoCon standings with 15 points, one behind Samford (5-0-1). The Spartans are the only remaining team with a perfect conference record.

Leads the SoCon in goals against average (0.83), goals per game (2.54) and assists per game (2.46).

Cienna Rideout leads the team both in goals (11) and points (25), which are the most points by a Spartan since Chesney White had 37 in 2014. After missing the opening weekend, Rideout scored in four-straight games, all game-winners. Named the SoCon Player of the Week after scoring two goals along with an assist last weekend, she leads the league in goals (1.0), game-winning goals (0.45) and points per game (2.27).

Nicole Souply is next in scoring with five goals and 12 points.

Goalkeeper Aiyanah Tyler-Cooper has played all but 57 minutes this year and ranks second in the league in save percentage (.833) with 50 saves.

Last Time Out-UNCG

Won 6-2 over Wofford at home last Sunday.

Five different Spartans scored for a season-high six goals with Natalie Sabiston leading the way with two.

Emily Jensen, Rideout, Souply and Kaley Tucker scored the other four goals.

Goalkeeper Kelley Mitchell made her collegiate debut and had one save in 32 minutes of action.

Had a season-high 33 shots, 20 more than the Terriers, with 17 on goal and a sizeable 10-3 advantage in corner kicks.

Scouting Western Carolina

Owns a 5-6-2, 2-3-0 record and went winless last weekend with losses at Chattanooga (2-1) and Samford (3-0).

Tied for sixth place with Furman in the conference standings with six points.

Rank last in the league in goals per game (1.00).

Freshman defender Reily Nelson leads the team in goals (three) and assists (two). Sophomore midfielder Regan Ward is the only other Catamount with more than one goal.

Picked to finish fourth in the SoCon Preseason Coaches’ Poll.

Scouting ETSU

Enters the weekend with a 5-9-0, 3-2-0 record.

Are in fourth place in the SoCon standings with nine points, one ahead of Mercer and three behind Chattanooga.

Lost twice last weekend at Chattanooga (1-0) and Samford (2-1, OT).

Sophomore forward Sarah Connolly leads the team in goals (seven) and points (15). Senior forward Eleonora Goldoni has five goals, and senior midfielder Rachel Harbin has a team-highs five assists.
