Women’s Soccer Signs Julia Brown To NLI
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Fourth-year UNCG women’s soccer head coach Michael Coll announced the signing of Julia Brown (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville/FC Continental) to National Letters of Intent Monday. She joins three other high school standouts in this year’s class in Kelley Mitchell (Wilmington, Del./Concord), Jeanine Valera (Naperville, Ill./Naperville North) and Quiqui Hita (Phoenix, Ariz./Xavier College Prep).
Brown, a 5-8 forward, is a four-year letterwinner and team captain at Phoenixville High School for coach Tim Raub. She was named to the PAC All-Frontier First Team and is a three-time PAC All-Academic selection. She guided the Phantoms to the PAC Final Four and the PIAA State Playoffs all four seasons, including a District 1 Class AA Finals appearance as a freshman. She is a four-time NSCAA National Team Academic Award and National Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award honoree. She played club soccer for FC Continental for coaches Keith Cappo and Steve Weaver.
“Julia comes from a very good Continental FC program at the Elite Clubs level and we are confident in her ability as a forward in the Southern Conference,” Coll said. “She has an intense playing style and her speed on and off the ball add great options to the Spartan lineup. She is a tall and fast attacker who will show as an effective target and link player in our offensive third of the field.”
