GREENSBORO, N.C. - UNCG men's soccer looks to bounce back from a pair of losses this Tuesday, getting back on the road to face Davidson at 7 p.m. The Spartans have had success against the Wildcats as of late, defeating the side six of their last eight meetings, while outscoring the club 16-7 over that span.

MATCHUP HISTORY

• UNCG holds an 18-8-2 record against the Wildcats all-time, and are 6-1-1 against the side since 2005

• The Wildcats took last year's decision 1-0, breaking the scoreless tie in overtime during the 94th minute

THE SPARTANS

• Despite not joining the Spartans until mid-September, forward Faisal Almubaslat currently sits third in the UNCG lineup with five points 

• With a total of 13 goals on the year, the Spartans currently rank 42nd in all of Division I soccer scoring

• Sophomore Albert Pedra scored his third of the season last week, putting away a penalty in his team's 4-2 loss to Appalachian State

• Almubaslat and Micah Albert both tallied a brace against UNC Asheville earlier this month, the first time the Spartans have had two players score two goals in a single match since defeating VMI 8-1 in 2016

• Defender Casey Penland scored his second of the year against App State, both of his tallies have come off of set piece opportunities

THE WILDCATS

• The Wildcats have not secured a win in the month of September, with their lone victory of 2019 coming in the season opener against NJCAA side Wake Tech

• Excluding the win over Wake Tech, Davidson has scored just two goals over the span of their other six matches, and have been shutout five times on the year

COMING UP NEXT

The Spartans will stay close to home, with a Saturday matchup at nearby High Point. UNCG is 14-11 against the Panthers all-time, despite taking a 3-2 loss to the side the previous season
