GREENSBORO, N.C. - UNCG men's soccer is off to its best conference season start in over a decade thanks to its current three-match win streak and a pair of wins against Belmont and Wofford last week. Freshman goalkeeper Brendan Pulley was between the pipes for both of those aforementioned contests, with his overall performance earning the Spartan his first career Southern Conference Defensive Player of the Week recognition.

• First career Southern Conference Defensive Player of the Week honor
• Combined for five stops against Belmont and Wofford for a pair of wins
• Made four stops against the Bruins, including a game-saver in the 88th minute
• Tallied a single save against the Terriers, turning away the shot at full extension
• Shutout Wofford in a 3-0 win for the first 90-minute clean sheet of his career

Making starts in each of the Spartans' wins over Belmont and Wofford, Pulley made five saves over the course of the week while shutting out the Terriers in a 3-0 win at home. The freshman's week started out with a four-stop performance at Belmont, where the keeper made an outstanding diving save in the 88th minute to help the Spartans keep hold of their 2-1 advantage. Pulley was forced to make just a single save against the Terriers on Saturday, but his diving stop in the first half of that match secured the second shutout of his young career as a Spartan, and his first 90-minute clean sheet.
