UNC Greensboro men’s soccer opened up exhibition play for the 2019 season on Sunday, as the Spartans fell to Coastal Carolina by a 2-1 decision in Conway, S.C.
After a scoreless first half, all three goals in the contest came in the second half starting with UNCG’s Cameron Fowler scoring in the 75th minute. However, despite the Spartans striking first, they were unable to score a victory with two goals surrendered late.
The Spartans had a total of 21 different players enter the game. In net, Ricky Zarri started before Brendan Pulley entered the game and played the entirety of the second half.
UNCG will continue exhibition action this Wednesday against Montreat College at UNCG Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
