GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNC Greensboro women’s golf (303-306) completed the second round of this weekend’s Bryan National Collegiate at 18-over 306 as the Spartans are now in 12th place entering Sunday’s third and final round.

The third round will begin tomorrow and live stats will be available via GolfStat.com.

The Spartans were led in the second round by senior Natalia Asensio (76-75) as she carded a three-over 75. The senior birdied twice on the front-nine and once on the back-nine during the round.

“I got off to a good start today,” Asensio said. “It got a little rocky in the middle, but I am proud of how I fought back. I’m excited to see what the team can do tomorrow to wrap up our home tournament.”

Along with Asensio, sophomore Tara Bettle (74-77) is tied for 44th place after she completed Saturday’s action at five-over 77. Bettle birdied Holes 4 and 6.

Sophomore Keri Kenkel (76-78) ended the second round at six-over 78. She closed out the day with a birdie on Hole 9.

Fellow sophomore Sara Rydman (77-80) completed the second round at eight-over 80 which included a birdie on Hole 15.

Senior Lexi Kershaw (83-76) improved by seven strokes on Saturday, as the Winston-Salem, N.C., native finished the second round at four-over 76. Kershaw birdied on Hole 11 and was over par only twice on the day.

“Today, I played great all day,” Kershaw said. “I had a couple big numbers, but just had some bad luck on those. I couldn’t have hit the ball better and putting was solid all day. My game is getting better every day and I’m excited to see how I can finish up tomorrow.”

In individual play, junior Kendall Dobbins (74-84) completed the second round at 12-over 84. Freshman Hailey Joy (82-77), meanwhile, capped off the second round at five-over 77. Joy was one-under 35 on the back-nine with two birdies.
