Five Women's Golfers Named To WGCA All-America Scholar Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNCG women's golf team placed five members on the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-America Scholar Team Thursday morning. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.

Leading the way for the Spartans was junior Lexi Kershaw (Winston-Salem, N.C./Catawba) who owns a team-best 4.0 GPA in business administration. Freshmen Louisa Tichy (Germering, Germany/Max-Born Gymnasium) and Kendall Dobbins (Summerfield, N.C./Northern Guilford) also made the list with a 3.85 and 3.74 GPA, respectively.

Rounding out the Spartans on the All-America Scholar Team included the two seniors from the 2016-17 season in Emily Kurey (Alpharetta, Ga./Louisville) and Kristin Powers (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Mendon). Kurey owned a 3.66 GPA in marketing while Powers posted a 3.55 GPA in communication studies.
