GREENSBORO, NC – On Wednesday evening, UNC Greensboro will take on the Duke Blue Devils at Jack Coombs Field in Durham, NC. First pitch for the midweek match-up is set for 7pm...UNCG and Duke have met on the diamond just three times prior. The first meeting occurred on April 20, 1999 with the Blue Devils defeating the Spartans, 12-5, in Durham. Eight years later, the teams met once again, this time for two games. UNCG shutout Duke, 6-0, on April 17 in Durham and then later in the season, the Blue Devils squeaked by with a 5-4 victory at UNCG Baseball Stadium...The Spartans are currently 19-11 overall with a 5-4 Southern Conference record. This past week, they went 1-4 after dropping games to No. 24 North Carolina, N.C. A&T, and two weekend games to Furman. The Spartans one win was a 5-3 victory over Furman in game one of a Sunday doubleheader...Duke is 21-10 overall with an ACC record of 4-10. The Blue Devils are on a five-game losing streak after dropping two to Miami and then falling in three straight to Boston College, including a 6-0 shutout in game two of the April 5 doubleheader.

The Blue and gold return to UNCG Baseball Stadium on April 11 to begin a three day, three game series with the Wofford Terriers. The series will kickoff with a 7pm first pitch on Friday evening. Saturday’s game is set to begin at 2pm with Sunday's game starting at 1pm.
