GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNCG women’s basketball team will play its home finale Monday evening, welcoming Wofford to Fleming Gymnasium to wrap up the season series between the teams. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. and the Blue and Gold will honor lone senior forward Janae' Stevenson (Columbia, S.C./Eau Claire) in a pregame recognition ceremony.

The Spartans and Terriers met Jan. 25 at Benjamin Johnson Arena with Wofford capturing a 76-70 victory in overtime. UNCG leads the overall series 30-8, including a 15-2 mark in Greensboro, but the Terriers have won six of the last 10 meetings. The contest is a battle between the ninth and 10th place teams in the league. If UNCG comes out on top, it will tie Wofford for ninth. However, if the Terriers emerge victorious, they will clinch no worse than ninth place.

The Blue and Gold enters the game with a 6-20 overall record and 2-13 league mark after falling to Furman at home Saturday. The Spartans are averaging 63.3 points per game and are allowing opponents to score 72.9 points per contest. The Blue and Gold owns a -1.2 margin on the glass, averaging 39.6 rebounds and giving up 40.8 boards per game. The Spartans are second in the league in offensive rebounding at 15.8 per outing. In terms of shooting, UNCG is firing at a 36.2 percent clip from the field, 30.7 percent from beyond the arc and 63.6 percent from the free throw line.

Sophomore guard Lucy Mason (Stone Mountain, Ga./Chamblee Charter) leads the team in scoring average at 12.5 points per game while Stevenson paces the Spartans in rebounding average at 8.2 boards per contest. The Blue and Gold uses its bench liberally as nine players have appeared in 24 or more games.

Wofford is 5-20 overall and 3-12 in Southern Conference action after falling to Elon 82-59 on the road Saturday. The Terriers are averaging 56.9 points per game while giving up 69.2 per contest. Wofford also pulls down 36.2 rebounds per contest while allowing 41.1 - a rebounding margin of -4.9. The Terriers are shooting 33.4 percent from the field, 25.2 percent from deep and 70.1 percent at the free throw line.

Jordan Frazier is the top offensive force for Wofford, averaging 13.8 points per game, while Ashton Fleming has corralled a team-high average of 6.7 rebounds per contest. The Terriers have lost six consecutive games with their last victory occurring Jan. 27 at home against Elon. That was the same weekend Wofford knocked off UNCG in overtime. The Terriers’ other league win came against Western Carolina Jan. 4.

The Spartans will wrap up the regular season next weekend, traveling to Samford and Chattanooga. UNCG will square off against the Bulldogs Friday at 7 p.m. before taking on the Mocs Sunday at 2 p.m.
