Sophomore forward Kayel Locke (Baltimore, Md./McDonogh) led all scorers with 30 points in 28 minutes of action, while freshman guard Tevon Saddler (Aberdeen, Md./St. Frances) added 16 points in 20 minutes.

Junior guard/forward Nicholas Paulos (Salt Lake City, Utah/New Hampton School) added 14 points and four rebounds as he was 4-of-6 from three-point land. UNCG finished the game shooting 58.2 percent (39-of-67) from the field and 67.7 percent (21-of-31) from the free throw line. The Spartans out-rebounded the Bobcats 44-33 and notched 12 steals in the victory, scoring 26 points off of 21 Lees-McRae turnovers. The Bobcats connected on 44.4 percent (28-of-63) from the field and just 58.3 percent (14-of-24) from the free throw line.

The Spartans came out of the gate quickly, scoring the first nine points of the game on their way to a 15-2 start. Paulos got the run going, nailing a three-pointer before Cain scored on back-to-back possessions. UNCG continued to pour on the offense as it opened to a 26-10 lead, forcing Lees-McRae into a timeout.

The Bobcats started to chip away at the UNCG lead and turned in a 13-6 run to trim the deficit to 32-23. Raul Tutton scored six straight as he hit a pair of three-pointers under pressure. The Spartans responded to the push and turned in a 12-5 run to take the lead back to double figures at 44-28. Paulos once again got it started with a three-pointer in transition before Outlaw converted an old-fashioned three-point play.

UNCG took a 50-36 lead into the locker room at halftime as Locke led the Spartans with 12 points and Saddler chipped in 11 points off the bench in 13 minutes. Saddler was a perfect 4-of-4 from the field and 3-of-4 from the free throw line in the first half while Cain added 10 points and Outlaw chipped in seven points off the bench.

The Spartans came out of the break and opened to a 60-41 lead, forcing Lees-McRae into a timeout less than three minutes in. Saddler ignited the spurt with back-to-back steals, leading the fast break baskets for the Spartans culminating with a thunderous dunk by Locke.

UNCG held a 20-point lead for most of the second half and closed out the game with a 28-point victory. The Spartans scored the final eight points of the game and reached the century mark as Tyler McNeely (Princeton, N.J./Blair Academy) scored off an assist from freshman Diante Baldwin (Greensboro, N.C./High Point Christian).
