The Spartans will face either Western Carolina, Samford, Chattanooga or Georgia Southern in the first round.
Saturday's game marks the 34th meeting all-time UNCG and Elon have met with the Spartans trailing the series by a 13-20 margin. Freshman forward Kayel Locke (Baltimore, Md./McDonogh) added 16 points on 7-of-11 shooting in the loss but was limited to just 23 minutes due to foul trouble. Elon was led by Lucas Troutman who scored a team-high 19 points, while Tanner Samson and Ryley Beaumont each chipped in 12 points.
