GREENSBORO, N.C.- The UNCG women’s tennis team will host a pair of conference matches as the Spartans welcome in Wofford and Furman this weekend.

The first match against Wofford is set for Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. The match against Furman is scheduled for Saturday at noon.

The Spartans sit at 3-7 after a 6-1 loss to Winthrop earlier this week. In the No. 6 singles match on Tuesday, Monica Aguado took set one 6-4, but Jamie Grinberg (Chapel Hill, N.C./ East Chapel Hill) bounced back and took set two 6-2 to force a third set. Grinberg took set three 1-0 after a 10-6 super tiebreaker victory. UNCG is 1-0 in the Southern Conference after a 4-3 win over Georgia Southern in their opening conference match.

Yasmin Franco (Largo, Fla./ Indian Rocks Christian) and Dilara Yurtkuran (Istanbul, Turkey/Gunes Koleii) are 3-0 for the season in doubles play and have won three straight matches.

Wofford sits at 5-6 on the year and 1-1 so far in conference play.  The Terriers are coming off back-to-back losses at the hands of Davidson and Gardner-Webb.

Furman is 7-5 for spring play and kick off conference play this weekend. The Paladins will start the weekend against Elon Friday afternoon and wrap up the trip in Greensboro.
