Women's Tennis Hosts No. 71 Winthrop 03-17-2014

GREENSBORO, N.C.- The UNCG women’s team will look to bounce back Tuesday afternoon as it welcomes in Winthrop for a 2 p.m. match at the Piedmont Indoor Tennis Center.

The No. 71 Winthrop Eagles most recently defeated Wake Forest in a close 4-3 match. The Eagles are 6-3 on the year and earned a 7-0 win over fellow SoCon opponent Davidson earlier this month.

The Spartans had a tough spring break trip with two losses to Stetson (L, 4-3) and Florida International (L, 6-1).

Tuesday’s match kicks off a three-match home stand with visits from conference opponents Wofford and Furman coming this weekend.

The doubles pair of Yasmin Franco (Largo, Fla./Indian Rocks Christian) and Dilara Yurtkuran (Istanbul, Turkey/Gunes Koleji) sits at 3-0 on the season and have won three straight since Yurtkuran returned from injury.
