GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNCG women's tennis team has canceled its match against Big South foe Longwood Sunday due to pending rain in the triad area.

The Spartans are 3-6 after dropping two matches in Florida over Spring Break. UNCG lost 4-3 to Stetson and 6-1 to Florida International.

Sophomore Amy Ellis (Cheshire, Great Britain/Newcastle Under Lyme School) leads the team with a 4-4 record in singles matches. Freshman Yasmin Franco (Largo, Fla./Indian Rocks Christian) is 4-4, including a 2-1 mark at No. 3 singles.

In doubles play, Senior Dilara Yurtkuran (Istanbul, Turkey/Gunes Koleji) and Franco have a 3-0 record winning their last three doubles matches.

The Blue and Gold stay home and host Winthrop Tuesday, Mar. 18 at 2 p.m. at the UNCG Tennis Courts.
