TUSCALOOSA, ALA. – The UNCG women’s tennis team completed the Roberta Alison Fall Classic Saturday on the campus of Alabama.

Sophomore Amy Ellis (Cheshire, Great Brittian/Newcastle Under Lyme School) lost a tough match against Elanor Grossman (Loyola Marymount), 7-5, 7-5.

Classmate Jamie Grinberg (Chapel Hill, N.C./East Chapel Hill) lost to Clemson’s Joana Eidukonyte, 6-1, 6-2.

Junior Stephanie Falcon (Marietta, Ga./Walton) won against Ipek Birol (Tulane) due to an injury. Freshman Masey DeMoss (Mayodan, N.C./McMichael) lost to Tulane’s Margaux Hyman, 6-1, 6-3.

In doubles play, Grinberg and freshman Yasmin Franco (Largo, Fla./Indian Rocks Christian) defeated Furman’s Alex Moreno-Kaste/Katherine Oudin, 8-7 (8-6). The duo then lost to Alabama’s Danielle Spielmann and Natalia Maynetto, 8-3.

Ellis and DeMoss took down Sarah Witkowski and Elaine Simon (UAB), 8-4. In their next match, the pair fell to Samford’s Jessica Northcutt and Lauren Caballero, 8-1. In the final doubles match, Falcon and Alisha Burton (Charlotte, N.C./Zebulon B. Vance) lost to Reka Ohonyi and Lisa Piller (Loyola Marymount), 8-5.
