Women's Tennis Takes Part in Wake Forest Invitational

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNCG women’s tennis team will take part in the Wake Forest Invitational Friday, Sept. 27 through Sunday, Sept. 29 at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex in Winston-Salem.

Last weekend, the Spartans participated in the second annual Charlotte Invitational as sophomore Jamie Grinberg (Chapel Hill, N.C./East Chapel Hill) and freshmen Masey DeMoss (Mayodan, N.C./McMichael) each went 2-0 in singles.

In doubles, freshman Yasmin Franco (Largo, Fla./Indian Rocks Christian) partnered with Grinberg winning two straight matches at the tournament.

UNCG will send seven players this weekend in junior Stephanie Falcon (Marietta, Ga./Walton), sophomore Asha Iyengar (Raleigh, N.C./Broughton), redshirt sophomore Alisha Burton (Charlotte, N.C./Zebulon B. Vance), sophomore Amy Ellis (Cheshire, Great Brittian/Newcastle Under Lyme School), Grinberg, Franco and DeMoss.

UNCG will compete in two more fall tournaments before beginning the spring season in January: the ITA Carolina Regional (Oct. 17-21) in Cary, N.C. and the Roberta Allison Invitational (Nov. 1-3) in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
