2013 (Freshman): Turned in a stellar rookie season for the Spartans, making 26 appearances and throwing 30.2 innings … amassed a 5-1 record while posting two saves … named to the Southern Conference All-Freshman Team … produced a 2.05 ERA – the lowest of any Spartan who hurled at least 30 innings … allowed just seven earned runs as opponents batted only .253 off of him … struck out 25 batters while walking only five … gave up just one earned run in his last nine outings and allowed only four extra-base hits the entire campaign … earned victories against UNC Asheville (Feb. 20), Georgia Southern (March 29), Appalachian State (April 13), Samford (May 4) and The Citadel (May 17) … helped the Spartans down No. 16 NC State (March 19) on the road, throwing an inning and a third with four strikeouts and no earned runs allowed … tallied multiple strikeouts on seven occasions … did not give up a home run the entire season … garnered saves at Davidson (April 20) and against The Citadel (May 18) in the Spartans’ home and season finale … limited opponents to one earned run or less in all but one appearance.
High School: Starred for Johnson City Senior High School under head coach Dave Buchak and earned a spot on the varsity squad as an eighth grader ... tabbed a 2011 Perfect Game honorable mention All-America and a 2012 Northeast Region Second-Team selection … was named All-Southern Tier Athletic Conference (STAC) and set a school record as a sophomore with a.556 batting average while also recording an on base percentage of .600 ... helped lead his team to a STAC division title, despite missing time due to an ankle injury ... also produced the highest batting average for the Wildcats all five seasons of his prep career ... during his senior campaign, Clark paced Johnson City to a 15-6 record – including a 10-2 STAC mark ... the Wildcats advanced to the Section 4 finals after a 6-0 win over Oswego Free Academy.
