Menís Tennis Signs Victor Marum to NLI
GREENSBORO, N.C. – International incoming freshman Victor Marum (Oslo, Norway/Norwegian Elite) has a signed a National Letter-of-Intent to play men’s tennis for UNCG next season, head coach Thomas Mozur announced Tuesday.
“We are very excited to have Victor Marum sign with the UNCG men’s team,” said Mozur. “We have high expectations for him next year and hope that he can make an immediate impact.”
Marum has played in numerous international tournaments and is a two-time under-18 Norwegian Cup title winner. In singles, Marum plays right-handed and has earned several International Tennis Federation victories. In his most recent tournament, Marcum made the quarterfinals in singles after going 2-1 at the Venden Cup in Latvia.
The Oslo, Norway native also is very skilled in doubles having earned nine ITF wins over the past year. In the Stabekk Autumn Open, he made the doubles finals after winning three-straight matches before falling in the finals in a second set tiebreaker.
The Spartans are coming off back-to-back 14 win seasons, including a semifinal appearance in the Southern Conference tournament this past year dropping a tough 4-3 match to second-seeded Furman. UNCG also went undefeated at the UNCG tennis courts for the second year in a row.
