GREENSBORO, N.C. - Freshman James Dougherty (Melbourne, Australia) and sophomore Randy Phillips (Snellville, Ga./Brookwood) have been ranked No. 88 in doubles by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, announced Tuesday.

The doubles duo was recently honored as first team All-SoCon in doubles after an 11-3 overall record and a 7-1 mark in league play. Dougherty and Phillips only loss in conference was against Furman's Andrew Mellow and Joel Cook.

Dougherty and Phillips have defeated two ranked doubles teams in Samford's Zac Dunkle and Garrison Laduca, 9-8 (7-3), who were ranked No. 52 at the time. Also back on April 9, they defeated Elon's Cameron Silverman and Stefan Fortmann, 8-4, who were ranked No. 43.

Overall, Dougherty and Phillips won 23 of 30 matches on the season.

Last week, the UNCG men's tennis team lost a tough 4-3 match in the SoCon quarterfinals against Chattanooga in Elon, N.C.
