Robert Hoadley Named All-America Scholar

GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNCG senior men's golfer Robert Hoadley (Southern Pines, N.C./Union Pines) is one of 152 players in NCAA Division I named to the Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar Team Thursday. Hoadley was a four-year letterwinner for the Spartans and competed in 128 rounds throughout his career.

Hoadley played in 31 rounds this year and posted a 75.77 stroke average while holding a 3.50 GPA in marketing. He finished his career with three strong tournaments posting a 27th-place finish at the Bancorp South Intercollegiate with a 221 (75-73-73) while placing 29th in the Gary Koch Invitational with a 221 (75-73-73). He closed out his career with a 233 (82-75-76) at the Southern Conference Championships to finish in 32nd place.

Hoadley, a two-time All-SoCon selection, won two events during his four-year career with the Spartans and posted five top-10 finishes. He won the Wolfpack Intercollegiate his junior year with a 4-under par 209 (69-68-72) while also winning the Pinehurst Intercollegiate his freshman year with a 213 (70-72-71).  

To be eligible for the Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at last three full years at the collegiate level, participants in 50-percent of his team's competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
