GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNCG men's and women's golf programs held the inaugural Alumni and Friends Golf Outing this weekend at the Grandover Resort, welcoming 18 twosome teams back to Greensboro in what will become an annual tradition.

"This Alumni Tournament was just incredible," men's golf head coach Terrance Stewart said. "To have so many Spartans return for the first year and listen to all the wonderful stories was exactly what I was hoping for. Everyone had a great time. We are already looking forward to the next Alumni Tournament in August of 2014."

The winners of the "Alumni" portion of the event were former men's golf student-athletes Andy Crain and Matt Stewart as they fired a 7-under 65 in the Grandover East Course. The "Friends" portion of the outing was won by Greg and Donna Stamey, the parents of former UNCG standout Nathan Stamey as they cared a 1-over par 73.
