Former Men's Golfer Andy Bare Wins Back-To-Back Pro Events

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Former UNCG golfer Andy Bare has won back-to-back events on the GProTour, North Carolina's newest developmental golf tour. Bare was two-time All-Southern Conference selection for the Spartans as a junior and a senior and still holds the UNCG 54-hole score with a 205.

Bare claimed his first title on the GProTour at the Rock Barn Golf and Spa (May 1-2) in Conover. He won the event by one stroke after posting a 6-under par 138 in the 36-hole event. He opened the event with a 2-under par 70 before carding the tournament's best score of the weekend with a 4-under par 68 in round two.

Bare followed that up by claiming the title at the Palisades Country Club (May 8-9) in Charlotte. He won the event by three shots with a 10-under par 134 in two rounds. He opened the weekend with a 6-under par 66 before closing it out with a 4-under par 68.

Through three events this year, Bare leads the GProTour with a 69.75 stroke average and is atop the leaderboard on the money list the $5,700 in earnings. For more information the GProTour, visit www.thegprotour.com.
