Lindsay Thomas Named SoCon Player of the Week
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Lindsay Thomas (Irvine, Calif./Northwood) earns her third career weekly award in being named the Southern Conference Softball Player of the Week, the league announced Monday. The selections are made by the SoCon office.
Lindsay Thomas was selected as the Player of the Week after hitting .667 with two home runs and seven RBI helping UNCG go 4-1 last week, including a three-game sweep against Appalachian State. Thomas had a monster series against the Mountaineers hitting .750 (9-for-12), two home runs, six RBI and nine runs scored in the three-game series.
The Irvine, Calif. native earns her first weekly award of the 2014 season after picking up two last season. Thomas also had a 3-for-4 game in a 13-1 victory against Charlotte in game two last week.
Also receiving nominations for Player of the Week: Appalachian State’s Ashley Seering, Elon’s Carleigh Nester, Georgia Southern’s Taylor Rogers and Samford’s Megan Dowdy.
