GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNCG softball head coach Janelle Breneman has added pitching signee Lacey Leary who transferred from Spartanburg Methodist for the 2013-14 season.

"We would like to welcome Lacey and her parents into the Spartan Softball Family," said Breneman. "Lacey is an established, talented pitcher coming off a very successful year at Spartanburg Methodist.  Lacey is determined in the circle and will also help our team offensively.  I am glad she chose UNCG and I feel she will help us reach our team goals."

Leary had a successful freshman season at Spartanburg Methodist helping her team to a 2013 Region X conference championship. She was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-South region second team after finishing the year with a 15-2 record in 95 innings with 86 strikeouts. Leary had 26 appearances with a 2.27 ERA and one save in the circle. As a hitter, she hit .320 with six home runs, six doubles and 23 RBI.
