Freshman Danielle Vega (Rialto, Calif./Aquinas) roped a two-run double off the left field wall to give UNCG a 4-0 advantage.

College of Charleston rallied to take a 6-4 lead after scoring six runs on four hits in the top of the sixth inning, including a go-ahead three-run home run from Kelsey Hodgson with two outs. The Cougars start the rally by loading the bases with no outs after a single, walk and a hit by pitch. Kristy Giragosian singled to first base to cut the lead to 6-1, while Carly Corthell singled up the middle to score two more runs. With two outs and the Spartans leading 4-3, Hodgson delivered the go-ahead home run.

In the top of the seventh, the Cougars added an insurance run after Corthell singled up the middle with two outs to pick up her third RBI of the game.

After an out moved Thomas to third, senior Heather Robb (Apex, N.C./Middle Creek) earned an RBI sacrifice fly to cut the lead to 7-5.
