BOONE, N.C. – UNCG's scheduled game against tournament host Appalachian State at the Southern Conference Softball Championship on Wednesday has been postponed until Thursday at 10 a.m.

There were five games slated for Wednesday, starting with No. 8 seed Furman and No. 9 seed Samford in an elimination game at 10 a.m. After half an inning of play, lightning was spotted in the area, forcing the teams off the field. Torrential rain followed soon thereafter. That game resumed at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The next three games will all be played Wednesday, but fourth-seeded UNCG's contest against fifth-seeded Appalachian State, originally set for a 7 p.m. start, will now be pushed back to Thursday. The winner of that contest will then play at 7 p.m. Thursday. The loser will play at 2 p.m.
