MT. PLEASANT, S.C. – UNCG's scheduled softball game at College of Charleston on Sunday has been canceled due to persistent rain in the Charleston, S.C., area and will not be made up.

The teams split Saturday's Southern Conference doubleheader, with UNCG winning the first game 5-2 before the Cougars rebounded for the 2-0 win in game two.

The Spartans (18-29, 7-10 SoCon) return home to host Western Carolina next weekend for a three-game set, kicking off a six-game homestand to end the regular season.

Former Spartan player and assistant coach Tara Csernecky will be honored prior to Saturday's game against the Catamounts. Csernecky died of a heart attack in December at age 40.
