GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNCG alumna and former Spartan women's soccer player Karla Davis has advanced to the live rounds of NBC's vocal competition "The Voice." Viewers can vote for Davis after Monday night's show and the results will be announced on Tuesday's show.

Davis, a 2008 UNCG graduate, recently advanced out of the battle round and is one of 24 artists remaining on the show, which features musicians Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton as celebrity coaches who don't initially see the competitors and judge solely on how the competitors sound.

The show, which is hosted by Carson Daly, has three stages of competition: the blind auditions, a battle phase and live performance shows. The show's grand prize is a recording contract.

At this point in the show, each celebrity coach has six team members remaining. Davis is a member of Levine's Team Adam.

Monday's show airs at 8 p.m., while Tuesday's results show airs at 9 p.m. Viewers can vote at the end of Monday's show via toll-free number, text message, Facebook, at nbc.com/the-voice/vote/ or by downloading performances from iTunes. Viewers can vote up to 10 times via each option. Voting remains open from 9:55 p.m. EDT Monday through 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Viewers are also encouraged to connect with the show via social media. The show's Twitter handle is @NBCTheVoice and it can be found on Facebook by simply searching "The Voice." The show's social media correspondent, Christina Milian, will also answer questions and give live updates throughout the show via Twitter @CMilianOfficial.

Now based in Nashville, Tenn., Davis won the 2010 Colgate Country Showdown, a national competition, earning the title "Best New Act in Country Music." The finals were hosted by former winner LeAnn Rimes and were held at historic Ryman Auditorium. The event has featured greats such as Rimes, Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw, Martina McBride, Billy Ray Cyrus, Sara Evans, Brad Paisley and Miranda Lambert in past years.

A four-year starter for the Spartans, Davis helped UNCG to a pair of NCAA tournament appearances. She twice earned All-Southern Conference honors and was the league's freshman of the year in 2004. She was a part of three SoCon regular-season championship teams and one SoCon tournament championship squad.

Davis released her debut album, "Here I Am," in 2010. Her new album, "360," will be released early this year.
