The following day, she will appear on "Today," which airs at 7 a.m.
Davis, a 2008 UNCG graduate, reached the live performance round of "The Voice," advancing through the blind audition and battle rounds. She performed live on the show Monday and Tuesday night of this week.
The show, which is hosted by Carson Daly, features musicians Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton as celebrity coaches who don't initially see the competitors and judge solely on how the competitors sound. Davis was a member of Levine's Team Adam.
Now based in Nashville, Tenn., Davis won the 2010 Colgate Country Showdown, a national competition, earning the title "Best New Act in Country Music." The finals were hosted by former winner LeAnn Rimes and were held at historic Ryman Auditorium. The event has featured greats such as Rimes, Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw, Martina McBride, Billy Ray Cyrus, Sara Evans, Brad Paisley and Miranda Lambert in past years.
A four-year starter for the Spartans, Davis helped UNCG to a pair of NCAA tournament appearances. She twice earned All-Southern Conference honors and was the league's freshman of the year in 2004. She was a part of three SoCon regular-season championship teams and one SoCon tournament championship squad.
Davis released her debut album, "Here I Am," in 2010. Her next album, "360," will be released this year.
